To launch its interiors collection the London Transport Museum commissioned the Design Laboratory to re-design the interior of a Routemaster double decker bus.

Using the retro moquette fabrics, the design embraces both the heritage and contemporary elements of London Transport’s rich design history.

Challenging the static mode of interior design, the Design Laboratory has created a contemporary living space on board a London Transport icon.

Launched at 100%Design 2004 at Earl’s Court, the bus, which contains a bar, chillout area and even a kitchen sink, creating an environment for each ‘zone’, has travel across Europe and ended up showcasing the ‘All Zones’ collection at the Milan Furniture Fair.
